Jeffrey P. Rose serves as President and Chief Executive Officer, as well as a member of the Board of Directors. Mr. Rose received his Bachelors of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Iowa. He attained his Master of Business Administration in Finance from the University of North Texas. He has been the President and CEO of several community financial institutions, and is actively involved in banking advocacy at both the State and National levels. He has been involved in the community around the Quad Cities with Unity Point Health, Two Rivers YMCA, Renew Moline and Illinois Bankers Association Boards. Mr. Rose joined the bank in April, 2016. He brings over 30 years of experience to the bank.
Randy Behrens serves as Vice President, Director of IT and Information Security Officer. He has been in the IT industry since 1995 and joined the Bank in 2002. He is responsible for all areas of IT systems including, the network, computer hardware, circuits, policies, procedures and audit and compliance. He is also in charge of assuring the confidentiality of all electronic information that travels through the Bank’s network. Mr. Behrens majored in Computer Science at Black Hawk College in Moline, Illinois and Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois.
Brock Biggerstaff serves as Vice President – Client Experience. Mr. Biggerstaff is responsible for developing products and services that enhance the experience of our customers. Mr. Biggerstaff joined the Bank in January 2019 and prior to that worked for a large, independent bank in the state of Iowa where he held various roles including VP – Retail Product Manager. Mr. Biggerstaff is a graduate of the AIB College of Business and the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
Garrett E. Buhle serves as Senior Vice President – Kane County Market President/Chief Lending Officer. He started in banking in 1989, and joined American Bank & Trust in 2008. Mr. Buhle is responsible for overseeing commercial lending for Chicagoland and the Bank’s Kane County Market. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Illinois and a Master of Finance from DePaul University.
Richard Emery serves as Senior Vice President and Trust Officer in the Quad Cities and Kane County area markets. He brings over 36 years of administrative experience, concentrating his work on area of trusts, estates, guardianships, and investment management agency relationships. Mr. Emery earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business from Eastern Illinois University. He also holds the Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) designation. He is currently a Board Member of the National Foundation for Ectodermal Dysplasias (NFED), and member of the Friendship Manor Board of Trustees in Rock Island, Illinois, as well as the Quad City Estate Planning Council. He is also involved with Rotary International.
Mark A. Evans serves as Senior Vice President-QC Market Manager. Mr. Evans received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the Western Illinois University. He was previously the Market President of another financial institutions within the Quad City area. He currently serves on the Renew Moline Board, Workforce Investment Board and Treasurer of the Moline Rotary Club. Mr. Evans joined the bank in October 2020 and brings over 35 years of experience to the bank.
Trista Foster, J.D. serves as a Vice President and Trust Office Manager for American Bank and Trust Company, N.A. in the Quad Cities. She has worked in investment management and trust services since 2013. Prior to her banking experience, Trista worked as an attorney in the Quad Cities, licensed in both Iowa and Illinois, and concentrated her practice in the areas of estate planning, probate, trust administration, and taxation. She graduated from St. Louis University with a B.A. in Political Science in 2004, and attained her Juris Doctorate degree with a concentration in taxation from St. Louis University in 2007. Additionally, she holds the designation of Accredited Asset Management Specialist. Trista is a member of the Scott County and Rock Island County Bar Associations, a board member for the Quad City Planned Giving Council, a member of the Nonprofit Capacity Building Grants Committee for the Community Foundation of the Great River Bend, a member of the Quad City Estate Planning Council, and a long time member of the Backwater Gamblers Water Ski Show Team. Trista is also a proponent of charitable giving, and was named the Association of Fundraising Professional's 2017 Planned Giving Professional of the Year.
Matt Phares serves as Chief Financial Officer. He graduated from Augustana College with a bachelor’s degree in Administration/Finance. He continued his education at St. Ambrose University earning a Master’s degree in Accounting. He has also earned a CPA designation. Mr. Phares joined the bank in January of 2017, and has over 13 years of Accounting and Banking experience.
Rebecca Skafidas serves as Senior Vice President, Chief Credit Officer. Ms. Skafidas is responsible for oversight of the Bank’s credit administration and loan operations functions. Ms. Skafidas graduated from St. Ambrose University with bachelor’s degrees in Accounting and Finance. She also attained her Master’s in Accounting from St. Ambrose University. Ms. Skafidas joined the Bank in 2015 and has over 15 years of experience in commercial lending and credit administration. She currently serves as the President of the Board of the Quad City Animal Welfare Center in addition to volunteering with Junior Achievement and IWLC.
Charles E. Sorensen serves as Chief Operating Officer and Mortgage and Consumer Loan Manager in the Quad Cities and Kane County area markets. His staff supports consumer lending, credit card services, merchant point of sale capture, and residential mortgage lending. Mr. Sorensen double majored, earning his BSS degree in Business and Economics and Physical Education from Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa. Mr. Sorensen has over 22 years of lending experience of which the past 11 years have been in banking.
