Teller

We are currently recruiting a Teller for our Quad Cities market. This position is responsible for processing customer transactions professionally in a timely and accurate manner by adhering to established policies and procedures at all times. 

 

*Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Balance cash drawer daily and report any teller cash differences to management.
  • Maintain the highest level of security by ensuring all transactions are properly documented, recorded, authenticated and valid.
  • Actively and consistently refer checking & savings accounts, ATM & debit cards, telephone & internet banking, bill payment, certificates of deposit, IRAs, safe deposit, discount brokerage, Visa credit cards and merchant processing opportunities as well as cross promote lending services to customers when appropriate.
  • As this position develops, the associate may be assigned additional duties or special projects as deemed necessary by management

Education and/or Experience:

 

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • A minimum of one year accurate cash handling and in-person customer service required.
  • Sales experience preferred.

Mortgage Loan Underwriter DE

American Bank & Trust has a full time opening for an experienced Mortgage Loan Underwriter DE in Rock Island Illinois.

 

Job Summary:

 

Underwrites residential mortgage loans in accordance with Conventional/FHA/HUD and internal guidelines ensuring compliance with company and investor standards.

 

*Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for underwriting residential mortgage loans in accordance with Conventional/FHA/HUD and internal guidelines ensuring compliance with company and investor standards
  • Current in-depth experience and complete knowledge of Conventional/FHA/Lending guidelines and understands how those relate to internal and investor guidelines
  • Ability to clearly communicate Conventional/FHA, corporate, and investor guidelines to customers, loan processors, loan officers, and mortgage brokers
  • Make timely and accurate decisions on all FHA transactions
  • Acts as secondary review and escalation point for conventional loans and government loans
  • Thorough knowledge of complex personal and business financial analysis
  • Expertise in tax return and balance sheet analysis
  • Provide training/mentoring to underwriters, loan processors, loan officers and mortgage brokers
  • Must have valid DE/CHUMS ID and achieve government underwriting authority consistent with individual’s work responsibilities
  • Assist customers on the phone and in person with questions concerning loan files
  • As this position develops, the associate may be assigned additional duties or special projects as deemed necessary by management

Education and/or Experience:

 

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelors Degree in Business or Finance preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of Mortgage experience preferably in underwriting required

  • Extensive knowledge of Mortgage operations/underwriting required
  • Ability to multi-task in a deadline oriented environment
  • Ability to diplomatically work with internal and external customers in order to ensure efficiency and professional service
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Analytical with solid math and auditing skills
  • Must be detail-oriented with excellent research and decision-making ability

 

Licenses/Certifications:

 

  • FHA underwriters must have certification in FHA

 

Equipment/Software:

 

  • Ability to operate a variety of office equipment such as personal computers, printers, scanners and calculators
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products required. Working knowledge of automated systems used in loan underwriting

 

Commercial Loan Credit Analyst

American Bank & Trust has a full time opening for an experienced Commercial Loan Credit Analyst in Davenport Iowa.

 

Job Summary:

 

A credit analyst prepares and analyzes loan documentation and credit file information for Commercial Loan staff.

 

*Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

 

  • Perform credit analysis and underwriting of commercial loan customer’s financial information and provide written analysis of work performed
  • Conduct credit investigations and analyze financial statements for new and existing customers, regularly communicate with loan officers, and assist in the preparation of financial/credit information packages for presentation to loan officers and loan committees
  • Perform periodic reviews as needed for existing loan files and financial information
  • Proficient in financial spreadsheets, commercial loan documentation review and tracking of technical exceptions.
  • Preparation and accuracy of commercial loan files and documents prior to closing including, but not limited to, ordering appraisals and ordering credit bureau reports.  These documents will be prepared and analyzed in accordance with underwriting guidelines as set forth in the Loan Summary and Bank policies
  • Provide assistance to loan officers and Commercial Lending personnel as requested
  • Regularly attend and participate in staff and bank meetings as requested
  • Adhere to the highest standards of ethical business conduct and compliance by acting lawfully, ethically, honestly and professionally in the performance of their jobs at all times as well as be in compliance with Bank policy and procedures as it relates to their job function

Education and/or Experience:

 

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.  Finance preferred
  • Minimum 2 years Banking and/or Commercial Lending Department experience required; experienced in lending or financial services preferred
  • Minimum 1 year financial analysis experience required

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

 

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Good interpersonal skills with other employees to facilitate and encourage a positive team environment and utilize participatory decision making skills.
