Bill Payment

Online Bill Payment is designed to free you from the boring, time-consuming chore of paying bills by check. Save time and money by paying your bills online.

We are changing the way we process our customers' bill payments.  Currently, when you set up a Bill Payment to be sent out you must have available funds in your account before we will process your Bill Payment request.  Beginning on April 10, 2017 the Bill Payment system will send out the payment without verifying funds prior to that payment being sent.  It is similar to how you may traditionally pay bills where you write checks or set up ACH automatic debits, and you are responsible for having the funds in your account when the debits are posted.

The other changes to Bill Payment that will also start on April 10, 2017 are as follows:

We are now going to send Bill Payment checks with your account number at the bottom of the Bill Payment check.  What does this mean for you?  You will now be able to view your Bill Payment check items through your paper or online statements.  You will receive images of those check items since they will be posting to your account, just like a normal check that you would write!

Forgot to pay a bill and you need the check to go overnight or the electronic payment to go the same day?  For a minimal fee, we will also have a new feature called Expedited Payments.  You can now send your payments faster and more secure!

For additional information on these new updates, please review our Online Internet Banking & Bill Payment agreement or contact your nearest branch location.

  • Schedule single (one-time) payments or recurring (multiple) payments up to a year in advance
  • View pending payments and access to your full payment history
  • Pay anyone (excluding court payments) within the continental United States and its territories
  • Easy payment scheduling - select the payee, amount and payment date
  • Edit payments up to 8:00 PM Central Time on the day prior to the effective date

Do you have Online Statements?

If the answer is "No", did you know you can reduce your paper waste?  Also, you can eliminate risk of identity theft associated with mail fraud.

To sign up for Online Statements, log into your account and click on the Customer Service tab. You can then select "Change Statement Delivery Method". American Bank & Trust stores a rolling 18 months of statements starting from the time you signed up to receive online statements. Also, if you need to, you can print your online statements!
